    In civil law, it's called "spoliation," and is often the basis for the court to rule against the party destroying the evidence, either on the point of in dispute or the whole lawsuit.  This country is not well served by a President who refuses to play by the rules that govern the rest of society or by a Supreme Court that will let him go on doing it.
