Bush Approval at 21%; 41% of Supporters Say Getting Worse

A new American Research Group poll has George W. Bush's job approval at a historically low 21%, against a 72% disapproval rating!
See the poll here.
I haven't seen this diaried yet, so I figured I would, as it represents a further collapse of Bush's approval ratings.
Only 60% of Republicans approve of Bush's job performance against 35% disapproval. 4% of Democrats approve against 85% disapproval, and 10% of independents approve versus 85% disapproval.
On the economy, only 17% of the American public approves of Bush's job performance, versus 77% disapproving. Only 52% of Republicans approve of his performance on the economy, along with 1% of Democrats and 7% of independents, versus a 40% disapproval rating from Republicans, 95% from Democrats, and 88% of independents.
No matter how you slice it, independents are almost totally in line with Democrats in terms of how they view George W. Bush.
In addition (and I find this extremely interesting) of those who approve of Bush's job performance, only 4% say he's getting better, 54% say he's staying the same, and 41% say he's getting worse.
To put this in a historical context, Harry Truman's lowest ever approval rating was 22%, during the Korean War. Richard Nixon's lowest approval rating was 24% during Watergate in 1974 just before his resignation. Jimmy Carter's lowest approval rating was 28% during the Iran hostage crisis.
I would add that all three of those Presidents' parties lost the White House in the next election. McCain has Bush and history as twin albatrosses on his candidacy.
