Remember that comment from Hillary during the primaries? How she has a lifetime of experience; Mccain has a lifetime of experience; Obama has a speech.
Pissed you off royally at the time, didn't it? Not only for the untruth of it, the snarky nastiness of it; but also, and more importantly, because you knew, you just knew, even then that the Republicans would use it against Obama.
Something nagged at me the first time I watched Obama's ad pushing back on the McCain "Original Maverick" spot. The bit where McCain boasts about how often he votes with Bush is from five years ago and on Fox. Why not use some of the more recent clips of McCain vehemently tying himself to W? Once he started running in earnest, McCain made sure everyone knew what a friend of 43 he really is. Let's hop over the fold for a brief look at the issue.
Took some time to filter through the garbage of McCain's newest ad in which he attempts to separate himself from George W. Bush. This is what I came up with:
As always, you can find more news, opinion, and analysis at The Left Anchor.
Hey Guys. I know this has been posted twice already.
But here's the real, official campaign MAVERICK video, you all keep asking looking for.
I know many of you haven't seen it yet, or saw the video with the chopped up ending (already posted 2x).
The video here, is not even offically released on Obama's website yet. But it's on youtube (go figure). I guess someone in the campaign must of released it privately.
Once again; many of you haven't seen it yet, or did and want the proper ending (no Wolf Blitzer), with the You Tube embed.
Here it is.
Thanks to Hope08 and Al Rodgers for their previous video post.
Barack Obama...? Nope, Ronald Reagan. Many Kossacks will view this video with some pause, I think it is effective and actually parallels well with the DKos story from yesterday 1980 Redux.
Now we know Chuck Hagel "hasn't decided" yet who he is supporting for president. My take is if he hasn't decided yet, he will probably be voting for Obama. Could an endorsement be in the works, hopefully soon?
Now I DON'T want Hagel on the ticket (way too conservative) but a strong endorsement AND supporting Ad would be huge.
McCain is standing in his hi rise building with a binocular, looking at Obama's apartment (campaign). What's his goal? paint Obama, a son of single mother, as arrogant. The irony is a son of an Admiral, paint a guy who grew up in difficulties as an elitist. Since McCain has to spend all his millions before sept. 2nd, expect more of this mischief.
What a wild and wacky week it's been! Even the most dedicated news hounds seem to have lost count of McCain's scurrilous and silly attacks. Posters to Democratic websites have been in full freak out mode, convinced that McCain and his disturbing obsession over Paris, Britney, Moses and Obama has completely tilted the election for good here, 90+ days out.
But don't overlook what may possibly be the most important story in all of this, a message that's getting lost in all the noise and craziness created by the McCain campaign:
This week McCain became Obama's cash register and chief fundraiser.
More after the fold... (I sure hope I'm doing this right.)
After seeing the latest of the televised snark-fest known as the campaign to elect Senator John McCain I had an epiphany of sorts. I have finally grasped the Republican Senator's true message.
Short diary and my apologies, but this needs seen and remembered.
McCain has fallen a long way down that bumpy hill which has become the track of the 'Straight Talk Express' and nothing shows that quite like this ad of McCain's.
Nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky.
And now McCain is trying to claim that Sen. Obama is playing "the race card". Phooey!
Voiceover: John McCain has compared Barack Obama to Britney Spears.
Britney: I think we should follow and trust Pres. Bush.
John McCain: I think we should follow and trust Pres. Bush.
Voiceover: Like Britney Spears, John McCain wants to continue Bush's failed polices in Iraq, and failed policies for the economy. If you voted for George W. Bush, and are not happy with the results, do you really want to vote for John McCain and the same policies as George W. Bush? Do you really want to tell yourself Oops, I did it again?
Yesterday I saw a video described as a new advertisement attacking Obama. The production quality was so poor I assumed it was a hoax. This morning I found more references to it, meaning the RNC really did create it. Watch the video here.
What target audience could this ad possibly have been created for? The only people who would become alarmed about a Marxist in the Obama campaign would never understand the video, because they would be like 100 years old. Somebody should tell the RNC that the Soviet Union collapsed, and Marxists are like cute pets now.
The end of the month is approaching (technically tomorrow. Obama took it to McCain with donations last month, despite earlier media reports that he would not. Let the media show America the support Senator Obama has when he outraises McCain.
This weekend showed us that McCain will do anything and say anything to get elected, resorting to the typical tactics of the right wing.
Diaries/media have pointed out that there was a bounce after his trip abroad and he will be focusing on the economy now. However, some ill conceived polls show otherwise and a McCain advantage. Some who are not familiar with polling do not recognize the flaws in those polls and they may be swayed.
Let's give Senator Obama the financial means to fight the smears and to get this man elected into office!!!
Any donations help, whether it is $5, $10, or more.
