Is this as good as it gets?

Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 10:50:52 PM PDT

My company is shipping jobs to Asia as fast as it can.  Jobs are being transferred to ‘tertiary sites’.  Isn’t that cute?  That’s what we call offshoring now, transferring jobs to ‘tertiary sites’.

From a corporate viewpoint, these ‘job transfers’ save hundreds of millions in labor costs each year, freeing the money up for big bonuses.  George Soros also reminds us that corporations see opportunities to make money in China and India in the coming radical realignment of the global economy.

If there were no disasters, how would Republicans and corporations profit?

You Can’t Cheat an Honest Democrat

Sun Sep 09, 2007 at 08:03:11 PM PDT

Democratic Leadership Beware!
2 in 10 trust ‘neither party’ on Iraq

For the latest demonstration of The People’s anger, consider the recent Washington Post ABC poll.

A majority (53%) anticipate General Petraeus will lie about progress in Iraq.  I take this as yet another example of how Bush has murdered trust for generations to come, not just trust in politicians but also trust in our military leaders.

If we don't trust General Petraeus, why would we trust the Democratic ‘surge protectors’ in Congress! (Brian Baird, so popular with the rightwing wurlizer, comes to mind.)

The People want their Armed Services rescued from Iraq, and they know who is lying when you say the surge is working.

Democrats: Quit Stalling! Impeach Bush and Cheney.

Wed May 30, 2007 at 10:16:36 PM PDT

I don't think our politicians understand how badly Bush has ruined it for them.  Bush has murdered trust for generations to come.

The Democrats investigate, find high crimes and misdemeanors and do nothing.  It drives me mad.

  • I watch Bush and Cheney looting the U.S. Treasury using no-bid contracts.
  • I see more American service men and women killed in a war for corporate profit.
  • I see disasters waiting to happen during hurricane season and Bush ready to use it as an excuse to declare an ‘emergency’. Hat Tip to SharonRB for an interesting diary

Why haven’t we started drawing up Articles of Impeachment?  Bush won't leave the White House without them!

Ari Fleischer says: "We're all in this together"

Sat Oct 07, 2006 at 11:19:12 PM PDT

But not all of us will be facing charges.

This Sunday's New York Times Op-Ed contains tons of advice, some eerily bad, on how Republicans or Democrats can win in November.

The piece that most surprised me was by former Bush press secretary and celebrated Vulcan ice princess Ari Fleischer.  I thought he was in hiding, like Michael Jackson.

I wonder if Mr. Fleischer was drunk or on drugs when he wrote this column?  Diminished capacity defenses are so popular with Republicans nowadays.  I assume Mr. Fleicher was intoxicated when he wrote:

"I'd remind elderly voters that their increasingly popular prescription drug benefit was brought to them thanks to a Republican initiative, delivered through private markets, not government controls."

Seniors will thank Republicans for Medicare D?  My wretched opinion on the flip.

Are you a good rich or a bad rich?

Fri May 19, 2006 at 09:52:41 PM PDT

- Who bought the presidency?
- Who bought the majority of Congress?
- Who is taking final bids on the Supreme Court?

- Who is pulling their money of the USA using:
    * tax cuts,
    * offshoring,
    * no bid contracts,
    * sweetheart deals and
    * influence peddling?

- Who is responsible for the Bush Administration, for every deadly result, for all fruit of the poisoned tree?

I blame the rich.

People say, `follow the money'.  Every time I do, it leads me back to the rich.  Call me an idiot but these are the facts as I see them.

Who are the rich?  Not you, most likely.  Me neither.  Start with most of the Senate and work your way up to foreign prince.  Osama bin Laden would be on the list somewhere near the top, above Bush I'm guessing.  No doubt President Bush is gaining on him.

You might argue that not all rich people fund corruption, which seems reasonable.  But why do the `good rich' seem to be so quiet and so few in number when the `bad rich' loot the Treasury?

Nixon Political Séance: Advice to the President

Thu Feb 23, 2006 at 05:58:13 AM PDT

The following is a political seance with Richard M. Nixon.

"Mr. President?"

"Please, call me `President Nixon`."

"Thank you, President Nixon.  How are you today?"

"I am on Cloud Nine!  I have to tell you, things have never been better.  My mailbox is overflowing with valentines.  You miss me!  You really miss me!  Every day I hear someone say `I miss Nixon'.  Can you believe it?  Liberals actually saying `I miss Nixon'.  It just breaks your heart, doesn't it?  Tears of gratitude well up in my eyes whenever I think about it."

"But that's not why I'm here.  I want to address the reason people are thinking of me with kindness and nostalgia.  I want to talk to George Bush."

Political Séance: Hoover taunts Rove from grave

Thu Oct 27, 2005 at 03:40:05 PM PDT

"The following is a political séance with James E. Hoover.  Mr. Hoover, are you there?"

"Yes, this is J. Edgar Hoover.  This is so exciting.  I haven't had an audience in years!  I used to have a BIG audience.  Everyone knew me.  I made sure of it.  I used film, radio and television shamelessly while I was FBI Director.  It wasn't just the makeup tips, I needed publicity.  It helped keep my job.  Well, that and being able to blackmail nearly everyone in Washington at one time or another.  And I had the time.  I ran the Bureau for more than forty-eight years.  Coolidge appointed me, you know.  I served Coolidge, Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon.  I had files on all of them.  Brother, the things I could tell you!  Do you think I was the only cross-dresser in DC?!"

"But that's not why I'm here.  I have a message for Karl Rove.  And I want to talk about Jeff Gannon, aka James Guckert.  I am fascinated by the case!"

Truman to Republicans: Put `em up!

(The following is a political séance with Elizabeth and Harry S. Truman.  Cross-posted at Booman Tribune)

"This is Bess Truman.  I have a message for Mr. William O' Reilly."

"Little man, if you say one more nasty word about Cindy Sheehan or any other member of a Gold Star family, I will knock you into the middle of next week!"

"I have made it my business to keep my opinions to myself, but your outrageous hooligan behavior forces me to speak.  Calling a grieving mother treasonous for petitioning the President?  Saying `She had her chance'?  What kind of man are you?  Pretty cowardly in my opinion, which I don't mind defending when you join us here in Heaven.  That's right, Mr. O'Reilly, I'm calling you out.  If you want to pick a fight with a lady, come to me.  I'll jerk a knot in your tail.  And you can tell your little friends Michelle Malkin and Melanie Morgan the same goes for them."

"Stay on the line.  Mr. Truman has something to say to you."

Homosexuals: Rove's Ultimate Weapon?

Fri Jul 29, 2005 at 12:11:22 PM PDT

Dear Democratic Party,

I have delayed sending this.  You can imagine how embarrased I feel. I am so sorry I cost you the 2004 election. I'm an unwilling tool of Karl Rove. I am a homosexual.

Republican fag bashing has really got out of hand. During the 2004 Presidential election, voters in eleven states were drawn to the polls by some pretty hateful 'anti gay marriage' ballot initiatives.  While they were voting to deny citizens rights because of their sexual orientation, they handed President Bush a second term. I'm sorry John Kerry and the entire Democratic Party got caught in the crossfire.  I still think Kerry is stiff as a board, but John Kerry would have been an honest and hard-working stiff as President.  Wouldn't that be refreshing?

Please note, this homosexual didn't put 'gay marriage' on the ballot.  You can blame Republican homosexuals for that.

Nixon - Dead and Loving It!

Fri Jul 15, 2005 at 11:05:00 AM PDT

The following is a political séance with Richard M. Nixon.

"Good evening, Mr. President.  Thank you for joining us."

"It's my pleasure!  I knew you would be calling.  I've heard whispers."

"Whispers, Mr. President?"

"Yes, I hear lots of whispers, sometimes even wistful yearnings.  Lately I've received the kindest sentiments from so many people.  You miss me.  You really miss me!  People are thinking 'I miss Nixon'.  Can you imagine that?  Actually missing Nixon!  Even liberals are missing me.  It's too much.  Excuse me, I'm tearing up.  I am overcome by the kindness and appreciation.  You guys make me feel like Sally Field at the Oscars.  Thank you.  God bless you all!"

"Thank You, Mr. President."

"Please, not so formal.  You can call me 'President Nixon'."

"Thank you, President Nixon.  Would you like to continue, sir?"

100 Little Old Ladies

Thu Jul 14, 2005 at 04:02:24 PM PDT

A lot of what I believe came from observing my Grandmother and her friends in the Ladies Bible Class, the little old ladies who were the heart and soul of my church.  These ladies were poor, elderly, had worked hard, many were still working, most were widowed.  They didn't have a lot, but they were comforted by faith and fellowship.  When they sang, they were radiant in their hope of Heaven.  They cared for everyone and loved us all.

I wish every seat in the United States Senate was filled by a member of the Ladies Bible Class.  It doesn't have to be my idealized Pentecostal ladies.  I propose we send 100 random little old ladies to serve in our country's senior deliberative body. I make no joke.  I would trust 100 little old ladies to be smarter, more honest and a lot more effective than our current representation.

Karl goes to Heaven

Thu Jun 30, 2005 at 02:33:44 PM PDT

God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are waiting when Karl Rove enters Heaven.  God seems distant and unreadable, Jesus distressed and the Holy Ghost serene and understanding.  Karl lived by his wits and clever tongue but now finds his mind and mouth are speechless.  Karl feels, rather than hears, the Holy Spirit's welcome as he is lifted up in God's all-encompassing embrace.
